BLACK PUDDING COMPANY WINS ‘ THE BEST IN BRITAIN COMPETITION’

The Real Lancashire Black Pudding Co has reaffirmed their place as ‘Britain’s most highly decorated black pudding makers’ after Mondays ‘National meat products competition’ which was held at Birmingham’s N.E.C . The company entered 3 different Black puddings and one Irish white pudding and won a ‘2 Gold medals and two Silver Plus the category winner which makes them the British Champions.

Last week they also won silver medal in The biggest Black pudding competition in Europe. The competition in Mortagne -au-Perche France is considered the most prestigious in Europe so a silver medal is a real honour for the company.

This brings the companies tally of awards over the last 20 years to an amazing 180. They have won awards in France, Belgium, Germany, Holland and Austria, but the British awards mean the most to them.

‘It is really great to win awards which endorse the quality of our products’ said M.D Andrew Holt. ‘Our dedicated team work very hard to maintain our high standards and winning accolades such as these makes them very proud of what they do’.

We had to take a break from competitions for a while because we moved our business to a new purpose designed factory which took over a year of hard graft and we simply didn’t have time.

One of the Products entered in the competition was a ‘Smoked ham and cheese black pudding’ The Judges thought that this was a very innovative and unusual product and was only a few points from winning the ‘Supreme Champion’ (Overall best product).

The Real Lancashire Black pudding Co. is a family run business based in the picturesque Rossendale Valley. They produce their puddings using a traditional ‘Bury Black Pudding’ recipe, dating back to 1879. Rossendale has a long tradition of making Black Puddings. And most of the Black puddings sold on the famous Bury market are made in the Valley.
